Creation of a Community-Themed Artistic Mural

In February, the youth from the education project proposed a mural they designed, reflecting traditional elements of their communities and the council within the city context to which they belong.

Ruak+ Jafaik+ Collective Initiative (Spirit of Song)

Harold Jefry Rodríguez Dutcha, a member of the CHC program “Education, Life for a Dignified Life,” leads the youth collective Ruak+ Jafaik+ (Spirit of Song). This collective seeks to encourage indigenous youth in an urban context, who live in a challenging environment where alcohol, drugs, unemployment, and family conflicts hinder the practice of healthy (sports) or cultural activities that support self-care and the preservation of their traditional culture within the city setting. “These are young people far from their ancestral lands.” The collective aims to create a space where they can experience learning, cultural strengthening, and language preservation through traditional dances and healing songs.
