Amazon Artisans Cooperative
This project aimed to generate comprehensive social development for the Indigenous Communities of the Amazon Trapeze, creating productive spaces and cultivating the skills of association and cooperation among artisans, thus seeking to rescue and promote the ancestral work of the region.
It also sought to open distribution and sales channels for products, through alliances and own points, under the concept of Fair Trade, to improve the income and living conditions of the 1,500 artisans in the 18 communities, linking them to the project.
This initiative was planned with the support of the Association of Indigenous Councils of the Amazon Trapeze – ACITAM, the SENA Leticia headquarters, the business training consultancy of the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Foundation and the Francisco José de Caldas District University in the environmental field.
