Colombian Horizons Corporation

It is a non-profit organization, founded in 2002 by the German citizen Dorothea Wolf-Nurnberg. It was created with the purpose of raising awareness of the cultural values and specific needs of ethnic minorities, in order to support programs aimed at improving educational conditions. It seeks to contribute to a change in societal mentality by opening avenues that allow us to connect through recognizing others, as well as putting into practice popular values and knowledge through autonomous teamwork, education, research, and the arts, since the value of the knowledge held by communities is immeasurable. This allows us to: look at Colombia with optimism!

The Corporación Horizontes Colombianos actively participates in indigenous movements at regional, national, and international levels, with a focus on those aimed at defending their territories as sources of life.

‘My vision, from the moment I arrived in Colombia, was always to create something meaningful in the education sector. As I observed the lack of equal opportunities for all people to access knowledge, I promoted the development of people’s abilities, seeking better utilization of the immense biological, ecological, and cultural wealth that Colombia possesses.’

— Dorothea Wolf Nurnberg
