Cultural Sundays

The project can be described as one of the first that the CHC launched in order to bring art closer to the working classes, giving them the opportunity to contemplate, analyze, discuss and practice it in a didactic framework in direct communication with some artists and their work.

Through these contacts with art, we have sought to transform people, to achieve a balance within each person, a better understanding of the world and life, leading them to a positive attitude.

We focused our work on Consuelo Sur, a popular neighborhood at the southern end of the city, together with the Community Action Board to determine the places and ways in which the community was convened around artistic practices (music, theater, contemporary dance, literature, poetry, documentaries on different topics).

The CHC obtained donations of snacks, especially for the girls and boys, and small useful gifts.

We included in our visits another project that we have designed, “Trash not trash” and we encouraged people to reuse and recycle, generating experiences of artistic creation with the supposed trash, from which pieces of art came out, under the direction of plastic artists.

On a truck bed and with a megaphone we went through the streets to call the population and in the neighborhood soccer field we found the most suitable place to work for long days and with excellent participation of the inhabitants, which allowed us to share with the community generating spaces for peaceful and artistic coexistence.
